Svobodová, Kristýna ; Šmatláková, Lenka (advisor) ; Ledvinová, Lucie (referee)
This bachelor 's thesis deals with a recent trend - birth plans. The beginning of my work focuses on anatomical proportions of woman and the changes that a body goes through during pregnancy. Following the psychological changes, psychoprofylactical methods from the rudimentary to the modern ones are analysed. The second chapter describes evolution of midwifery in the area of Czech lands and abroad untill present days. The last chapter of the theoretical part is focused on characterization of birth plans and what approach can a nursing staff adopt to the plans. The relationship of the birth plans and advance healthcare directive is also defined. The aim of the practical part is to investigate the influence of birth plans on the parturition. A research was conducted through an analysis of collected data. Subsequently, the acquired information was visualised in graphs and charts to achieve clarity. The results and objectives are analysed in the discussion. Key words: birth plan, pregnancy, childbirth, woman, midwife
Education of Pregnant Women about Birth Process
Hanáková, Anežka ; Kulhavá, Miluše (advisor) ; Jurigová, Gabriela (referee)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on what pregnant women should be taught about a birth process by their midwives in antenatal classes and what important facts and skills make them mentally and physically sufficiently prepared for the birth process. It studies how well educated about the birth process after attending childbirth education classes selected group of pregnant women actually is. The primary aim of this bachelor's thesis was to describe and analyse efficiency of Czech antenatal classes in the field of preparedness for birth of selected group of pregnant women and to find out if these pregnant women were subsequently able to use their new skills during their birth process and if the given education was in their opinion sufficient and comprehensible. Thanks to this bachelor's thesis we have found out that the efficiency of education in the antenatal classes in the Czech Republic is not sufficient. The rate of well educated women is 75 %, the given education was in their opinion very well comprehensible and sufficient. However the ability to use the skills during their birth process wasn't satisfactory. Therefore we have arrived at a conclusion that antenatal classes lecturers should turn their attention to improvement of efficiency of the antenatal classes and educate pregnant women in a...
Vyhodnocení vlivu rodičů na velikost plodu v době porodu
Hrazdirová, Vladěna
The diploma thesis entitled "Evaluation of the influence of parents on the size of a foetus at the time of birth" focuses on evaluating the maternal and paternal relationship to the size of a calf of the Friesian breed in the agricultural enterprise VOS Zemědělců, a.s. Velké Opatovice. The research part focused on measuring the dimensions of a mother (height at the withers, width of tubers costae, width of tubers sacrale, width of tubers ischiadicum), on the lactation order, date of insemination, date of calving and the course of birth. In calves, the dimensions of the width of the head, length of the head, birth weight and sex were observed. Year-long measurements were followed by statistical processing and evaluation of the data based on the results obtained from the measurements of individual cows, heifers and calves during birth. The diploma thesis analyses a database of the number of bulls and heifers for the reference period for which the birth weight and the course of birth were assessed. Furthermore, it assesses the influence of the lactation order of breeding cows on the size of offspring. The breeding cows were divided by the lactation order which is in accordance with their age. Another indicator monitored was the duration of gravidity and its relation to the size of the calf. The breeding cows were divided into 3 groups with various duration of gravidity. Twelve bulls with 312 offspring were included in a more detailed analysis. The relationship of a breeding bull in relation to the duration of gravidity, the size of offspring and the course of birth was assessed. The evaluated results are given at the end of this thesis.

Outpatient delivery from the point of view of a midwife and child nurse
NOVOTNÁ, Kristýna
This thesis deals with outpatient childbirth, and the opinions of midwives, pediatric nurses and women on this topic. The first goal was to find out the opinions of midwives and pediatric nurses on outpatient birth and the second goal was to find out the reasons that women choose for outpatient delivery. This work is divided into two sections, the theoretical and the practical part. The theoretical part describes the competencies of midwives and pediatric nurses, the process of childbirth from admission to the delivery room, ultimately to the fourth stage of labor. Furthermore we describe the first treatment of the newborn, room-in neonatal care, examination of the newborn by a doctor and neonatal screenings. Furthermore, the theoretical work focuses on outpatient childbirth itself, following the law, and addressing outpatient childbirth complications from the perspective of both the mother and the newborn. The practical section consists of the methodology, results and discussion. The method of data collection was a semi-structured interview, whereby the research included midwives, pediatric nurses, and motherswho experienced an outpatient delivery. Interviews took place in March 2019. If the informant agreed, the interview was recorded, but in case of disagreement, spoken responses were recorded on paper. To maintain anonymity, the informants were designated as DS, PA, and Ž. Based on the obtained data categories and subcategories were created. Two categories were created for midwives and pediatric nurses (Outpatient Childbirth, Care during Outpatient Childbirth), which were subsequently developed into subcategories. Women after outpatient delivery had data divided into four categories (Previous births, Outpatient delivery, Postpartum care, Reactions of neighbors). Two goals were set for this bachelor thesis, on the basis of which three research questions were created. The first question dealt with the view of midwives on outpatient birth. Research has shown that none of the midwives took a negative attitude and are certainly not trying to change women's decisions about having an outpatient delivery. In this case, they are glad that women did not choose to give birth at home, this way the woman is under trained supervision in case of unexpected complications. The second research question examined the opinion of pediatric nurses on outpatient delivery. The research showed that more than half of nurses do not take a negative attitude towards this decision, and only one pediatric nurse doesn't recommend outpatient delivery even in a case of physiological pregnancy. Pediatric nurses educate women about the care of the newborn, necessary post-partum examinations, and where to go and what to do in case any complications occur. The third research question deals with the reasons for women to decide for outpatient delivery. Research has shown that women are most often led to this decision for the need of a more peaceful and their domestic environment, or negative prior experience that involved lack of communication or lack of sufficient information. The women also suffered from frequent staff interference, loss of privacy and the alienating regime of the delivery room, and therefore opted for outpatient delivery. The research showed that the majority of medical staff do not show a negative attitude towards outpatient births and try to reach a certain compromise related to hospitalization and dismissal. It also showed that the interest in outpatient births is risingslightly.
